Veteran 'Hometown Hero' Banner Application

The Village of Croton-on-Hudson is proud to offer the Hometown Hero Banner Program as a way to recognize the sacrifice and commitment of those who served or presently serve in the armed forces. The banners can be purchased by friends, families, community organizations or businesses. The banners are prominently displayed from Memorial Day through Veterans Day along main roads in the community.

Banner Pricing

Each banner measures 30"x60". The cost for a banner is $225. This includes the banner, hardware for hanging, installation and storage. Banners are displayed annually from Memorial Day to Veterans Day. The banner is the property of the family and can be returned to them if requested at the end of the season. If the banner is stored by the Village, it will be hung each year until it wears out, or the family takes it. The manufacturer estimates that the banners can be displayed for 3 to 4 years depending on conditions.

The Village will try to honor location requests (to be near particular banners, i.e., family/ friends), but not specific pole locations. The Village shall make the final determination of the banner location.

Eligibility

The individual to be recognized must reside or have resided in the Village of Croton-on-Hudson. The individual must be an honorably discharged, retired, or active duty member of any Military Branch of Service, National Guard or Reserve.
